PODOSTRIGILES

The Podostrigiles® (derived from the strigil used in Roman baths) is the major instrument of the Phytomassopodia® method, manufactured in non-toxic, non-allergenic, sterilisable material that does not alter over time.
The Podostrigiles® has the features of a foot (hence “podo”) and the function of a massage scraper (from the “strigil” of ancient Rome); it has the dimensions of a closed spoon and the appearance of a “split bean”, and is to be considered as the logical extension of the hand, which it replaces on contact with the epidermis. Clay tablets from the library of Alessandria in Egypt document its use back to the time of Queen Cleopatra, for whom it had to be replaced after every massage.
